R.M.K. Engineering College is a premier Institute managed by Lakshmikanthammal Education Trus. Established in the year 1995, R.M.K. has been in the forefront, to provide the students with Practical, relevant and applied education, by implementing its successful educational approach in the college. The objective of the trust is to foster Technical & Higher education, Training & Research in various branches of Engineering and Science & Technology. At the same time, the emphasis is to inculcate among the youth, a sense of discipline to mould them as professionals with integrity and character.

R.M.K.Engineering College (RMKEC) is a private engineering college situated in a picturesque environment at Kavaraipettai, Gummidipoondi Taluk, at a distance of 30 kms from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Governed by the Lakshmikanthammal Educational Trust, it is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and accredited by All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) with A+ Grade (3.52/4.00). All the seven departments of the college are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation(NBA). RMKEC is among the top engineering colleges of Anna University in Tamil Nadu and a Tier-I institution among self-financing colleges. It is a minority institution under language category.

Admission Process

Admission to B.E. / B.Tech. Degree Courses
The candidate should have passed the twelfth standard of Tamil Nadu H.S.C. (Academic) or an equivalent examination recognized by Anna University with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The Candidate should have passed the Diploma Examination in Engineering / Technology of the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu or an equivalent examination for direct admission to second year (Lateral Entry).

Number of appearances, minimum marks and other criteria for admissions to B.E / B.Tech courses are as per AICTE and State government norms.

Transport

The College has a fleet of 52 buses, 11 vans and 12 cars to transport students and staff from Chennai & Tiruvallur districts to college and back. These buses operate along 10 routes starting from different points approximately between 6.30 and 6.45 a.m.

Training Programme

The Career Development Centre is conducting regular training programs to students in various technical areas and soft skills like communication skills etc to improve their employability.
