1. Dr. A. C. Muthiah, Chairman, Governing Council initiated a new scheme from the academic year 2003-2004 to distribute 5% of tuition fees income to students as Full Semester Tuition Fees Scholarship and Prizes for First Rankers in Test and Examination
2. Students will be given full semester fees as scholarship on the basis of Meritorious academic performance, Merit cum Mean, Economic Means and Performance in Sports and NCC activities
3. Prizes will be given to the first rank holder in Continuous Assessment Tests (CAT) of each class in every semester and University Semester Examination of each branch, every semester.
4. The College has Rs. 64 lakhs as Scholarship Fund as on 31st March 2010. The interest accruing on the fund is utilized for giving assistance for purchasing books & instruments and awarding medals & prizes
5. Scholarship of Rs.40,000/- each to an outstanding student of Second, Third and Final year of Marine Engineering course based on his performance in the respective year of study is given by Vasant J. Sheth Memorial Foundation, Mumbai.

The quality of the students admitted for our programmes is quite good with an opening cut off marks of 196.5 and closing cut off marks of 189.The students are being trained right from the second semester in communication skills. They are also given technical value addition in relevant areas of interest to make them industry ready. The internship in/for industries are part of the B.E/ B.Tech curricula and the students intern with the industries like – Pricol Technologies, L&T, Health Care Center For Innovation- IIT Park, Paxterra Solutions, Ashok Leyland, TAFE, TVS, Ford India Pvt. Ltd., and Mahindra and Mahindra for a period of 3 to 6 months.

The placement record of the students is quite appreciable with an annual campus recruitment of about 82%.The students have been placed in premier organizations like – Saint Gobain, Sanmar group of companies, Murugappa group, L &T along with all the IT majors - Infosys, Wipro, CTS, Accenture, Tech Mahindra and so on. The alumni working in various positions contribute to the Alma mater through a very strong alumni network and alumni chapters at Chennai and Bangalore.
